History

1960 – The Hungarian Government creates the Hungarian Oil and Gas Industry Trust (OKGT).

1975 – First imports from the Soviet Union through the “Brotherhood Pipeline”.

1991 – MOL is founded following the restructuring of OKGT. The natural gas supply and wholesale business is part of Exploration and Production Division of the new company.

1999 – Gas Division was founded in order to co-ordinate all natural gas activities in one unit.

1st January 2004 – MOL Földgázellátó Rt, the public utility wholesaler and open market natural gas trading company in Hungary commences business operations as a 100% owned member of the MOL Group.

1st April 2006 – MOL Földgázellátó Zrt. is acquired by E.ON Ruhrgas International AG. (ERI), the Pan-European company for midstream gas and selected upstream activities. ERI is part of the E.ON Group, the biggest privately owned worldwide power and gas company. The move will make the Hungarian gas trade business a fully integrated part of a Pan-European gas market unit.

22nd May 2006 – MOL Földgázellátó Zrt, the public utility wholesaler and open market natural gas trading company in Hungary has a new name and a new brand: E.ON Földgáz Trade Zrt.

The brand that equates to performance and expertise enables E.ON as a group to provide customer orientation locally and therefore deliver better results. This means: one European identity, one European culture of business, one European family of brands.

E.ON Földgáz Trade Zrt, the Hungarian natural gas storage subsidiary of E.ON Ruhrgas International AG. is acting as the legal successor of MOL Földgázellátó Zrt. The company, like its predecessor, is active on the Hungarian energy market in the natural gas trade business under the licenses of the Hungarian Energy Office.
E.ON Földgáz Trade Zrt. is providing its services to both the regulated and some liberalized gas market players, thus ensuring the security of high level gas supply in the whole territory of Hungary.
