Our Web Specials on the energy of the future

Information in a nutshell appealingly presented: Our Web Specials give you more details on what you’d like to know about gas. Are NGVs economical? How is LNG transported? What form of energy is best for your home? These are just a few interesting aspects on the subject of gas. You need a flash plug-in to be able to see the animations in full.

All beginnings are difficult

Natural gas can form on land as well as in oceans and waters. Discover its origins. Our Web Special takes you on a journey through time and illustrates how natural gas is gradually formed over millions of years.

Search and you will find

It is certainly not just a question of luck when a prospecting company strikes gas or oil. This Web Special shows you what factors play a role during the search and when so-called exploration wells are sunk.

It’s all a question of skilful production

After a successful search, it is now a question of producing the gas: This animation introduces you the complex drilling and production technology needed. Why don’t you join us on a flight to an offshore platform or to an onshore drilling rig?

Treatment while the gas is still at the production platform

Contaminants in the form of water vapour, hydrogen sulphide as well as sand and water entrained from the reservoir rock can impair the quality of the natural gas. The undesirable entrained substances are therefore removed even before the gas is fed into the transmission system.

Delivered direct to the customer in a safe and environmentally benign manner

An extensive pipeline system transports natural gas to the customer in a safe and environmentally benign manner. Alternatively, LNG can be transported to the consumer by tanker.
