The third natural gas auction was held in Hungary on 6 March, 2008 and, via this, E.ON Földgáz Trade was again able to contribute to the revitalization of the domestic natural gas market.
Since 2006, E.ON Földgáz Trade has sold a minimum of 1 billion cubic metres of natural gas to other domestic traders every year to thus be able to liven the natural gas market. In conformity with the European Union’s stipulations as regards competition, the auction is to be held at the beginning of March each year.
In 2008, the upset price was 97.4 percent of E.ON Földgáz’s weighted purchase price, and the auction went three rounds, when 6 of the 8 companies participating this year bought, altogether, 1.1 billion cubic metres of natural gas during the time of the online auction.
